Reviews of my English writing

First and foremost, I want to thank my secondary English tuition teacher, Mr See who saved my English from the brink of withering. After having my tertiary education in UKM I cannot find someone to correct any of my English grammatical mistakes as well as the ways of speaking. Thanks to my form six Muet teacher who taught me how to improve my writing skills. My only English teacher presently are Youtube and Google. Thanks to the whole world teachers who are very generous to share their knowledge.

I always review each of my English writing when I am idle trying to improve some sentences and reducing the grammatical errors as much as I can by myself.

Recently I found that one of the shortcomings of my writing is lacking of coherence. Writing consists of many independent sentences. Therefore, coherence is much needed to make a writing felt connected and smooth. How to make an essay cohesive? By using some useful cohesive phrases such as ,

As this shows, …
As can clearly be seen from this example, …
It is clear that…
Thus, the idea that…
To illustrate this, …
After analyzing both points of view, …

However, these cohesive phrases are more suitable in writing a discussion or an article review. To write a story needs humongous marvellous adjectives. Be it simple or bombastic words as long as we know the skills to describe or to portray the feeling and the ambience of the story.

Overall, my reviews of my writing is I had quite a number of grammatical mistakes, lacks of varieties of sentence structures, lacks of proper use of vocabulary and lacks of coherence.

There is a big room for improvement...

Great ladies in 2011 December

Firstly, CNN Heroes 2011 goes to Robin Lim, a dedicating Mummy for poor women in Indonesia who helps the expecting poor women to deliver their babies and at the same times taking care of their health during the whole pregnant process. She said,"Every baby's first breath on Earth could be one of peace and love. Every mother should be healthy and strong. Every birth could be safe and loving. But our world is not there yet," during "CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute," which took place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. She treats all the poor and new mothers with kind and respect. She abandoned her great life in United State and with her husband they move to Indonesian to help people in needs. She is an author for many maternal health and infant related books. There are other admiring heroes and heroines who are making the world different in the nominated list in CNN. Helps can change the world with LOVE.





Another great mum in the world, Teresa Hsu who departed on 7th Disember 2011 at the age of 113. She is an amazing lady. She was illiterate until her twenties and then started her education and went to England to pursue her Nursing course in her forties with an urge to help the sufferings after World War II. With her great resolution, she was an intelligent yoga practiser. She was known as "Mother Teresa of Singapore",devoting her life to the sick, the lonely elders and the destitute. It is dismaying to know an Angel is left, but death is part of the natural life.

Both ladies are the flickering diamonds in the dark corners of the world.



The funniest picture to put under the title of "Great Ladies in 2011 December "..HaHaHaHa...I have a sense of narcissism. I am not great like the ladies mentioned previously but I want to be GREAT!!!

Today, I go to sentul joining recycling activities. As usual, nothing is special. But, I am very delighted each time joining something where I can devote to the community. Come come come,my brilliant future..We will go where we are heading to~~~~~

突然看见书里夹着一张废纸，废纸上有我在去年随手写的一个不懂可以叫诗还是短文的“迷路”~~，所有文字全靠想象，记录在这里一下~~~

迷失在森林的感觉，

就像没了灵魂，没了方向，

感觉害怕，想快点找到出口。

拖着疲惫的身躯，

一步一步地走。

河流的水滴，丛林的树叶，

是生命的来源。

须多强的生命力

来极力逃脱命运的捆绑？

夜里的虫鸣声

是唯一舒缓情绪的乐章；

奇珍异兽

是刺激与生俱来的自我保护元素；

体力的透支

是减退毅力的绊脚石。

时间的流逝，让机会缩小。

须多大的毅力走出丛林？

Tuesdays with Morrie

A great literary fiction by Mitch Albom. A thesis done by an old man with a young man. This fiction is not a thrilling,heart-pumping story but a fiction make me to think again the essence of life and others which sometimes hovering in my mind. My friend shared with me about his impression for this book,the most impressive quote he will never forget "once you know how to die then you know how to live". Inspiring book which accompany me during my free time at night. The story talked about a going dying professor, Morrie with incurable disease ALS (a disease same with Stephen Hawking which makes the whole body atrophy from day to day) shared his life wisdom, experience and thinking with his student, Mitch Albom every Tuesday in the Professor's house. Mitch who asked about the questions mostly people will quench for their life: Death,Family, Emotion, Money, Marriage, Aging, Carrer and so forth. The last word he said to his student"Be compassionate. Take responsibilities for each other".Yes,then only the world and life can go on.

The most impressive saying for me: Death ends a life but not a relationship. Love will not left with the life.What I want to devote to the world? Graduation is around the corner though there are 6 months to go. If I'd had a Prof like Morrie, what would had he said to me??

Is okay..let's go on life with hopes.

A teacher affects eternity;he cannot tell where his influence stops. (Thumbs up for the quote no matter how worse or best the teachers are they can really affect students!!!)
